MEP Quantity Surveyor

MEP Quantity Surveyor Ho Chi Minh
Job Description (Key Responsibilities):
  • Demonstrate a high understanding of Standard Method of Measurement daily works;
  • Reach a high standard in description / measuring / bulk check quantities of structural trades and finishes trades accurately;
  • Be able to understand the level of rate of MEP trades accurately;
  • Build up unit rate of MEP trades accurately;
  • Contact local and international vendors for pricing and to propose the finish schedule;
  • Be able to review designs in order to determine whether design is sufficient for BQ measurement;
  • Contact design consultants for inquiries;
  • Be able to raise intelligent queries re. any outstanding design information or discrepancies;
  • Take off quantity for MEP works as SMM;
  • Make Bill of quantity (BQ), Cost Estimation, Cost Plan, Contract Package;
  • Make Pre-Tender Estimation;
  • Be able to manage the cost databases and other operation databases;
  • Assist Senior Quantity Surveyor to prepare Financial reports, Statements …;
  • Assist to complete Tender Document;
  • Attend project meetings, taking notes and preparing Minutes of Meeting if required;
  • Be able to draft simple letter to Client;
  • Follow up to fulfil the clients’ / consultants’ requirement;
  • Control works to meet timeline of clients / consultants;
  • Show ability to train MEP Assistant Quantity Surveyors / MEP Trainee Quantity Surveyors.
Job Requirements & Person Specification (Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Behaviours)
  • University graduate;
  • Knowledge and experience of construction market is essential;
  • At least 3-4 years MEP Quantity Surveying experience;
  • Be able to communicate in English;
  • Be able to manage deadlines, work independently to carry out the task and meet deliverable expectation;
  • Willing to work overtime / at weekend to fulfil the pending tasks or urgent requirement;
  • Willing to support / help colleague in the company;
  • Be well presented, professional and present a good image for the firm;
  • Show a good communication skill with all staff members .

    Mr. TRAN DANG KHOA

    OPERATION DIRECTOR

    Khoa Tran, graduated in Civil Engineer and Master Engineering in construction management from HCMC University of Technology. He has joined the firm since April 2010 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor of Davis Langdon & Seah Vietnam. Khoa Tran was appointed as Associate from 2017 to 2019 and then Operations Director of Arcadis Vietnam from 2019 to 2022. Since November 2022, he has continued the role of Operations Director when the firm name was changed to DLS Consultant

    With over 22 years of experience in the construction industry, including more than 14 years in the role of tender, cost and contract management consultant at DLS Consultant, Mr. Khoa has been involved in numerous large-scale projects in the Vietnamese and Cambodian markets. Furthermore, he has been a trainer for FIDIC Contracts courses at the Bim Lab Center, HCMC University of Technology.

    His market sector experience includes offices, retail, hotels, resorts, residential, educational, industrial, hospital projects.

    Mr. TRAN HOANG DUY

    MEP DIRECTOR

    Duy Tran has joined Davis Langdon & Seah Vietnam since 2007 as a M&E Quantity Surveyor. After the company changed its name to Langdon & Seah Vietnam, he was promoted to M&E QS Manager. When the company joined Arcadis Group in 2016, he was appointed as MEP Associate Director and continued to hold the role of MEP Director when the firm name was changed to DLS Consultant in 11/2022.

    With more than 20 years of experience in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering as Designer, Project Engineer and Quantity Surveyor on Building, Industry, and Infrastructure projects.

    His market sector experience includes including offices, retail, hotels, healthcare, education, residential, entertainment, sports and leisure, industry, and infrastructure in Viet Nam and Cambodia.

    Mr. DO TAN VIET

    OPERATION DIRECTOR

    Viet Do has joined Davis Langdon & Seah Vietnam since Nov 2004 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. He was appointed as an Associate of Arcadis Vietnam in 2016. Since November 2022, he has been appointed as an Operation Director of DLS Consultant.

    Viet Do has over 23-year experience in the Vietnam construction industry working on Building and Infrastructure projects as a Supervisor, Designer, Quantity Surveyor.

    His market sector experience includes offices, retail, hotels, residential, entertainment, sports, and leisure, educational, industrial, hospital, road transportation and bridge projects.

    Mr. TRUONG NHUT MINH

    DIRECTOR OF COST ESTIMATION DEPARTMENT

    Minh Truong has joined Arcadis Vietnam as Senior Quantity Surveyor role since 2016. Since from 11/2022, he has been appointed as a Director of Cost Plan/Cost Engineering.

    He has more than 20 years of experience in Civil Engineering and deeply has worked as a Senior Quantity Surveyor since 2010.

    His market sector experience includes hotels, healthcare, retail, office projects, especially in construction cost management for hospitality projects ranging from luxury to mid-range as well as commercial & mixed-use projects sector.
