Builder Quantity Surveyor

Builder Quantity Surveyor Ho Chi Minh/ Ha Noi
Job Description (Key Responsibilities):
  • Check all deliverables performed by AQS prior to compile into Team’s Reports (following Practice Manual and QAQC manual);
  • Be able to manage the design information (drawings and specifications), Request for Information (RFI) from/to the Designer;
  • Prepare Full Bill of Quantity (BQ) following Standard Method of Measurement;
  • Measurement of quantities for Architectural, Civil and Structure works (interior/ façade and landscape works shall be added value);
  • Be able to build up unit rate when required;
  • Be able to understand the Preliminaries Works;
  • Preparation of project briefing meeting minutes;
  • Preparation of partial Cost appraisal, Cost plan report and Pre-tender Cost Estimation Report (including measurement of construction floor area (CFA) and including Value Engineering Report);
  • Preparation of Pre-Q report and tender documents;
  • Support Senior QS for tender management; attend (if required) tender interview; manage tender clarification questionnaires and all pre and post tender correspondence from/ to contractors;
  • Support Senior QS in preparation of tender evaluation report/ Letter of Acceptance/ Contract Document;
  • Carry out the cost comparison, cost analysis and cost database and other operation databases of projects;
  • Record of insurances, warranty, bond and securities of projects;
  • Prepare valuation of Interim Payment Certificate (IPC);
  • Assessment and closing out of variation order;
  • Support in preparation of financial statement report;
  • Preparation of final account report, statement of final account;
  • Follow up and update material prices trend on market.
Job Requirements & Person Specification (Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Behaviours):
  • University graduate (Bachelor of Civil and Structure Engineer/ Bachelor of Architect/ Bachelor of Construction Management or equivalent);
  • 5-9 years working in construction industry (3-6 years working as quantity surveyor);
  • Good English speaking and writing skills (additional other language shall be added value);
  • Understanding the QS roles in the projects;
  • Experience in measurement and assessment of unit rates;
  • Understanding the FIDIC contract, construction schedule;
  • Good communication, reporting, presentation and interpersonal skills;
  • Be able to work independently to carry out the task and meet deliverable expectation to manage team’s deadlines;
  • Willing to work overtime / at weekend to fulfil the pending tasks or urgent requirement;
  • Willing to support / collaborate with colleagues in the company;
  • Be able to attend site meeting and design meeting with / without Senior QS;
  • Be able to work full time on site (when required).

    Mr. TRAN DANG KHOA

    OPERATION DIRECTOR

    Khoa Tran, graduated in Civil Engineer and Master Engineering in construction management from HCMC University of Technology. He has joined the firm since April 2010 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor of Davis Langdon & Seah Vietnam. Khoa Tran was appointed as Associate from 2017 to 2019 and then Operations Director of Arcadis Vietnam from 2019 to 2022. Since November 2022, he has continued the role of Operations Director when the firm name was changed to DLS Consultant

    With over 22 years of experience in the construction industry, including more than 14 years in the role of tender, cost and contract management consultant at DLS Consultant, Mr. Khoa has been involved in numerous large-scale projects in the Vietnamese and Cambodian markets. Furthermore, he has been a trainer for FIDIC Contracts courses at the Bim Lab Center, HCMC University of Technology.

    His market sector experience includes offices, retail, hotels, resorts, residential, educational, industrial, hospital projects.

    Mr. TRAN HOANG DUY

    MEP DIRECTOR

    Duy Tran has joined Davis Langdon & Seah Vietnam since 2007 as a M&E Quantity Surveyor. After the company changed its name to Langdon & Seah Vietnam, he was promoted to M&E QS Manager. When the company joined Arcadis Group in 2016, he was appointed as MEP Associate Director and continued to hold the role of MEP Director when the firm name was changed to DLS Consultant in 11/2022.

    With more than 20 years of experience in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering as Designer, Project Engineer and Quantity Surveyor on Building, Industry, and Infrastructure projects.

    His market sector experience includes including offices, retail, hotels, healthcare, education, residential, entertainment, sports and leisure, industry, and infrastructure in Viet Nam and Cambodia.

    Mr. DO TAN VIET

    OPERATION DIRECTOR

    Viet Do has joined Davis Langdon & Seah Vietnam since Nov 2004 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. He was appointed as an Associate of Arcadis Vietnam in 2016. Since November 2022, he has been appointed as an Operation Director of DLS Consultant.

    Viet Do has over 23-year experience in the Vietnam construction industry working on Building and Infrastructure projects as a Supervisor, Designer, Quantity Surveyor.

    His market sector experience includes offices, retail, hotels, residential, entertainment, sports, and leisure, educational, industrial, hospital, road transportation and bridge projects.

    Mr. TRUONG NHUT MINH

    DIRECTOR OF COST ESTIMATION DEPARTMENT

    Minh Truong has joined Arcadis Vietnam as Senior Quantity Surveyor role since 2016. Since from 11/2022, he has been appointed as a Director of Cost Plan/Cost Engineering.

    He has more than 20 years of experience in Civil Engineering and deeply has worked as a Senior Quantity Surveyor since 2010.

    His market sector experience includes hotels, healthcare, retail, office projects, especially in construction cost management for hospitality projects ranging from luxury to mid-range as well as commercial & mixed-use projects sector.
